Blogs have been around since 1997, but only really took off in popularity when automated publishing systems were introduced - ie. Blogger at blogger.com.In order that you don’t get confused, stick to the term blog, rather than the other alternative “weblog” as it means a server’s log files. A Good Idea For a Blogging Web Site is No Longer Enough

By Tech Boy | November 13, 2008

For more making money online blogging tips and how to start blogging for profit check out blogging to the bank 3 review

Because there are so many blogs and web sites about blogs on the internet, it can be tough to distinguish your blogging web site from all of the others. If you are starting up a new web site aimed at bloggers or if you are looking to make your existing blogging site more distinctive, the key to building and maintaining a site that will capture the interest and attention of the blogging community is finding your niche. If you can fill a unique need in a way that no other web site does, you’ll be able to build a lasting readership among web surfers. Once you have discovered a niche, you will still have a lot to do, but finding your place in the blogosphere is the place to begin.

Every great blogging web site starts with a great idea, and you can’t build a successful site that will last without one. There are many great sites aimed at today’s bloggers, and competition for the attention of this growing demographic is fierce. To make your blogging web site stand out from the rest of pack, you will need to offer something that no other site is currently offering, or you will need to do the same thing that an already popular site does but in a more impressive or valuable way.

One way to discover an ideal model for your blogging web site is to look at the sites that have successfully captured a blogging audience already to determine if you can appropriate some of their strategies to help realize your vision. Of course, you will also need to add a unique flair to your project in order to stand apart from your competition. Many people agree that the web sites that do the best in today’s market are the sites that have the most personality. The fiercely individual surfers who are bloggers are a demographic that responds especially strongly to personality, so it's important to consider how you can give your site a unique and attractive feeling by lending your own voice and sensibility to your site's design and content.

Once you have a great idea for your site, have pinpointed a special niche that you are well equipped to fill, and have infused the site with personality, the next step is figuring out how to get the word out to bloggers. In the long run, a great idea for a blogging web site just isn't enough to propel your web site to success. You will need to draft a smart and realistic marketing plan in order to draw readers to your site. Once you hook a blogger, your great content will keep them coming back, but it is vital to get that first glance or your site won’t have a chance to shine.

Memory Stick Repair Tips and Options

By DavePF | November 13, 2008

The floppy drive has died and the Cd is going the same way as it becomes every more easier to carry around masses of data on USB memory sticks otherwise known as flash memory sticks or pen drives.

Sony patented the term “memory stick” when they came out with a new storage device for their digital cameras and digital files. Original drives were quite small but it was still cutting edge technology, but look where we are today?

It is nothing to have 2,3 or even 4gb of data just sat on the memory stick dangling on the your key ring, but every technology has a down side. Due to there portability even though they are quite robust it is quite common to damage a memory stick even to the point of losing all your data which for many is an absolute disaster.

Fortunately for the unlucky ones (which are more than you would guess) memory stick repair is a viable option so if the worse does happen it shouldn’t be the end of the world, even if your memory stick does contain all your data.

In the worse case scenario a good data recovery company can even retrieve data from a microwaved drive or even one that has be submersed, although there are no guarantees that USB memory stick recovery will work the odds are good so don’t panic if you break your pen drive or memory stick.

Reviewing The Samsung Omnia Cell Phone By Cell2get

By DavePF | November 12, 2008

The new Samsung omnia is by far one of the best products in the Samsung Unlocked Cell Phones line. As the name indicates “omnia”, it offers “everything” , starting from multimedia to internet, texting to calling , it’s simply flawless when it comes to any service it has to offer. Talking about its outlook, its display is 3.2 inch, which makes it comparable to the famous iPhone. Unfortunately, resolution wise, it is behind the leaders. It is almost impossible to use it in direct sunlight, which is a big drawback. In addition, it has an extremely fashionable stylus at its disposal, which could be easily replaced by any object.

OMNIA’s beautiful appearance isn’t its most attractive asset. For an all-in-one device, the user-friendly interface and the rich multimedia functionality are of more importance.

The Omnia looks super-cool too. The sleek platinum finish and the slim body give the phone WOW factor, even before you start using it.

Samsung have been churning out Unlocked Cell Phones with touch screens since the beginning of 2008. First the Armani, then the Tocco, each time refining the design and getting closer to the perfect phone. Now the Omnia looks like it could be “the one”. Samsung’s touch screen user interface has improved a little with each release, although we criticized the Tocco for having a smaller screen. The TouchWiz user interface is an excellent implementation of a touch screen phone. TouchWiz uses a variety of intuitive touch controls, e.g. tap, sweep, drag and drop operations as well as an on-screen qwerty keyboard. The screen uses tactile feedback to help you feel your way around the menus and controls, and even hard-core texters should be happy with the result.

The Omnia is a GSM Cell Phones smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.1. This has a number of advantages. Firstly, the user interface will be familiar to PC users, even including a mobile version of Internet Explorer for web browsing. Secondly, the system enables convenient access to Office documents such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word (for editing as well as viewing). Thirdly, you can download third-party applications and install them on your phone. The phone comes pre-installed with very comprehensive personal organizer functions.

The Omnia is an amazing phone, and it’s no surprise that it’s moved right to the top of the best seller charts at launch. Touch screen phones are the hottest product in 2008, and the Omnia is arguably the best so far. If you fancied the new iPhone or the LG Viewty, you should really be looking at the Omnia instead. The only issue is the Windows Mobile operating system, which is admittedly very powerful, but is not the most stable operating system ever invented. But even so, this is definitely a 5 star phone!!!

To top it off, The Samsung Omnia is the hottest phone of 2008. It’s a touch screen smartphone and, unlike the iPhone, it does everything that a high-spec phone ought to do. The Omnia has everything: a 5 megapixel camera, 3G video calling, a music player & FM radio, fast web browsing, the most memory ever seen on a mobile phone and it connects to any device you can think of via Bluetooth, USB or Wi-Fi.

The Psp 3000

By DavePF | November 11, 2008

The PSP 3000 is the latest incarnation of the Sony Playstation portable series of handheld gaming consoles. The PSP 3000 features the following improvements over its predecessors;

Improved LCD screen
Increased colour range
Five times the contrast ratio
Half the pixel response time
Anti reflective technology for increased outdoor playability
Integrated microphone (for use with the built-in Skype telephony software)
Improved AV output for video and game playback on TVs

The buttons have also undergone some minor design changes which bring about a much more Dualshock 3 style layout, with the semi circles being changed to ovals and the home button being replaced by a “PS Button”.

Drawbacks

The new PSP 3000 isn’t without drawbacks however. The changes in the system have decreased the battery life, reportedly by around 20 minutes. The screen also possesses a new horizontal subpixel structure which has caused the screen to show visible dark lines, similar to traditional scan lines.

Why the Changes

The goal of the changes to the PSP 3000 is to establish it as “a viable communication device” according to Sony Europe boss David Reeves. The microphone that is now available will also open up a new world of opportunities for games development companies to make use of this new feature.

Games to Checkout

If you’re not a big gamer you may wonder what are the best games to pickup for yourself or as a present and here are our top tips:
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories 3.11 million copies sold – If you’ve never heard of Grand Theft Auto you must have been living in a bubble for the past ten years. The gameplay consists of a mixture of action, adventure, driving, and occasional role-playing, stealth and racing elements and has gained controversy for its adult nature and violent themes. This isn’t one for the kids but is definitely one for the ‘big kids’ in the family.

Ridge Racers 1.04 million copies sold – The original Ridge Racer was hugely popular and often bundled with many an original Playstation when they were first released. Namco have ported this favourite over to the PSP. As an entry in Namco’s long running Ridge Racer game franchise, Ridge Racer for the PSP shares a number of gameplay elements, cars, and tracks with its predecessors. The game features a total of 24 courses (12 unique courses and the same 12 courses reversed) all taken from previous PlayStation games or the arcade-only title Rave Racer, and 54 unlockable (fictional) cars. As you win races, you unlock tracks and faster cars.

Everybodys Golf 1.00 million copies sold - The series is well-known for its humorous look on the game of golf (including cartoon-like caricatures) and guest characters from other games, along with modes such as miniature golf and its ability to maintain a realistic engine with precise control in tandem with the unrealistic design. The series is popular with both golf fans and non-fans alike.

Wipeout Pure 1.00 million copies sold - Pure also uses the Wi-Fi ability of the PSP for multiplayer racing. The game returns to the much loved handling of Wipeout 2097 and is a sure fire hit with almost anyone, a great futuristic racing game that is surely a classic in anyone’s book.

If you’d like to pick up a free PSP-3000 series Playstation Portable or even a free Free Playstation 3 why not grab one today from Mobile Phone With Free Gift with a new mobile phone contract.

What You Need To Start A Blog

By Tech Boy | November 11, 2008

What You Need to Create a Blog

Many people ask what you need to get started in order to make a profitable blog. Well, this answer may surprise you; ’nothing’ or at least if you don’t want to spend any money and don’t care how much profit you make from them. Now, if you want higher returns and if you have the money to spend, the answer to “what you need to get started” might be several hundred dollars, in order to invest in tools that could make your climb to the top faster and smoother.

One of the most important things you will need to get started is some form of keyword research tool or database. On the market today you can find a large selection of these types of products, ranging in price from zero dollars up to $500. The most popular tool on the market is probably ’WordTracker’, which offers a limited trial version for free, or a fully-functional version for $7.50 a day or $45 a month. Using a blog keyword research tool will allow you to find out which words are the most commonly used and have a cumulative profit rating associated with them.

Other than a key phrase tool, the answers to the, “what you need to get started” question, will usually depend on the project.

For instance, if you’re hosting a blog and you want to monetize it with Adsense, you may want to add a thumbnail generator to your, “what you need to get started” list.

A thumbnail generator will create code that, when inserted in your blog, will generate scraped-thumbnail pictures from related searches on Google images, and will place them next to your contextual ads, increasing the click-thru rate.

In contrast, if you’re planning to sell your own products, you may want to add an auto-responder to your, “what you need to get started” list.

An auto responder will allow you to greatly improve your conversion rate by allowing you to put all follow-up emails on autopilot, rather than you having to do them personally or by strictly using your sales page.

My recommendation would be to always do some research on the internet for what products you can download, before you go out and spend a lot of money on something you may not really need. Then later you will be able to determine if you want to purchase any software products to further your blog business and increase your profits. So basically you have a few choices, you can create a profitable blog without paying a cent, but if you want to take advantage of automating tools to further improve your profitability and efficiency, you will have to purchase at least a few tools.
